RECAP Week 5
Stop n Go vs. Savages
Without Suleman/Shumail on their end, the Savages figured they would stand a chance in beating Stop N Go, but unfortunately that was not the outcome. Stop N Go's methodical and efficient approach at the offensive side of the ball led to a few quick scores and allowed Stop n Go to take an early lead verse the Savages. Savages tightened up their D and connected on a few big plays to stay stride for stride with us.
Although the Savages matched them point for point going into the 2nd half, Stop N Go pulled away at the end with a misplay by Savage safety Yash, who tripped on the chopped up turf but the turning point of the game came had to be when the score was tied at 20. Hashim of Savages couldn't secure an interception as the ball bounced of his hands conveniently into Nabeels hands who was in the right place at the right time. This play resulted in a touchdown and Stop n Go taking a 26-20 lead which they were able to hold on to as Savages couldn't get in the end zone with their last drive.

Empire vs. Warriors
In a key match-up between two 1-3 teams, Empire came out flat. Their defense allowed a 3rd down conversion and on 4th and a long goal to go, tipped the initial pass only for it to end up in the arms of another Warrior player for an early 6-0 lead. Empire's offense wasn't able to sustain anything in the first half as uncharacteristically bad decisions were made by Chris as he had two 1st half INT's. Empire's defense tightened up as they were only down 12-0 heading into the half.
Empire got the ball to start the 2nd half and scored to make it 12-7. Empire's defense couldn't hold up as they allowed another TD as the Warriors went up 18-7. Back and forth they went but Empire's defense put the clamps on after allowing that touchdown as Neal had a INT with the Warriors driving.
With the Warriors trying to seal the game with under 4 minutes, Atif was able to make an acrobatic INT in the endzone for a touchback to give Empire the ball back. Empire's no huddle offense was run perfectly as they were able to drive down the field as Chris hit Ali with another TD pass to make it a 18-13 game. Empire was able to stop the Warriors and get the ball back with about 30 seconds left and no timeouts on their own 5. Empire just didn't have enough time as the Warriors were preventing the deep ball.
The loss drops Empire to 1-4 who is in danger of not making the playoffs unless they can correct their mistakes and turn it around.
Warriors 18 Empire 13
Slumdogs vs. Desert Eagles
Slumdogs defense came to play today as they only gave up one first down all game. Slumdogs' offense started out slow throwing an INT and going 4 and out on two of their first three drives. However, the Slumdog defense was able to put them in good field position all day with turnovers that led to easy scores. Jobin and Mike are probably the 2 hottest players at their respective positions right now and definitely look for the Slumdogs to make a strong push for a championship run.
Desert eagles have got some good athletes they need a better game plan. Rotating QBs throughout the game will not work. Although they have some very good athletes they still need to be better prepared against a team like the Slumdogs. They got dominated on the offensive side and couldn't put any points on the board.
Slumdogs win this one in mercy fashion.

Bandits vs. Chargers
The Chargers once again got off to a poor start. Two early picks led to two Bandit touchdowns. Down 14-0 the Chargers got a spark on defense. Back to back interceptions by Razi and Ibrahim led to two touchdowns and the Chargers tied the score at 14. QB Burhan of the Bandits stepped up after QB Jawed could not make it out to this one. He threw 3 TDs and controlled the game very effectively using the clock and taking advantage of miscues from the Chargers defense. He was doing an excellent job before suffering an injury. Vic Santiago stepped up and filled the hole adding another 2 TDs. Bandits were missing a few key components in this game but they are showing tremendous depth and a lot of resilience.
The Bandits took the lead right before halftime on a controversial touchdown as it appeared the ball hit the turf and the receiver was out of bounds. In the second half once again turnovers plagued the Chargers as three more picks led to more Bandits points. The Bandit defense gave up some big plays in this one but they did not let the Chargers tie the score in the second half, Nadeem tallied two touchdowns, and Najeeb and Sajeel each had a TD score for the Chargers who fell to 2-3.

Those Ravens vs. Decepticons
The Decepts were hungry from the get go. After laying an egg last week vs the defending champs they wanted to come out and prove they are still one of the elites. And despite only dressing 6 for majority of the game the teams reserves stepped up and a huge day. Ravens, on the other hand, didn't know what to expect coming in to this game as there QB situation is still uncertain. Second play of the game Those Ravens QB threw an interception and the Decepts wasted no time by punching it in with a quick strike to Omar. A couple plays later on offense and Those Raven throw another interception which lead to another quick touchdown. After another series, Those Ravens score on a pass from Majid to Stephen. Halftime score is 20-6.
In the second half the Ravens failed to convert and take advantage of missed opportunities by the Decepts defense. The Ravens dropped a total of 5 interceptions on defense which contributed greatly to their loss. The game got chippy and there was lots of trash talking between the 2 teams.Give Ravens credit they fought hard on this day but the Decepts were not to be denied. Those Ravens have some very skilled and fast players, but they are a young team. With some time together and experience they can still have a shot at the playoffs Another great rivalry developing in the league between these 2 teams.
