- Week 5 is in the books and the race for the playoffs is in full effect.
- Game 1 of week 5 was predicted to be a complete blow out by Stop n Go but it was anything but. Savages had a lot of control in this game and one play at the end of the
game was the deciding factor. Losing a leader on the field such as Farhan due to injury might be the reason that this game was so close. Savages did look good and they look like they are starting to gel without Anwar. We’ve been saying it for 5 weeks now, Stop n Go IS the team to beat…
- Slumdogs are still on a roll and barreling over teams’ week in and week out. Their victims this time was the Desert Eagles. They put up 40 against the Eagles thanks to QB Mike Chu, who is looking like one of the best QB’s in the league right now and their defense gave up 0 points thanks to multiple interceptions by Jobin George who is putting his stamp on the league this year not only on the defensive side but the offensive side as well. They have one of their big tests this season against the undefeated Bandits this week so it will be interesting to see how they prepare and adjust to an explosive Bandit defense and offense.
- Despite being 0-5, Desert Eagles actually have a pretty solid squad the one thing that has hindered them has been the QB play. In this league you don’t have to have a great QB, if you strategize and use the strengths of your offense such as running the ball with your fast running back so they can create plays, setting up screens with your tall receivers and opening up the middle of the field and getting the easy throw in then you CAN be successful. Instead of trying to be a vertical team focus more on a west coast offense that has 5-10 yard plays and have your playmakers make plays focus on Yards After Catch (YAC).
- Speaking of the Bandits, They didn’t have QB Jawed this week so QB Burhan stepped up and filled the void against the Chargers. He put up an excellent performance throwing three TDs and a lot of completions mid-field. Unfortunately he went down with an injury and could possibly be out for the season. Fortunately, the Bandits have another QB in Victor Santiago and he stepped up and finished the game throwing 2 TD’s. Bandits showing a lot of depth and pulled out the victory.
- The Chargers put up a good fight against the Bandits but the lack of a consistent QB did them in on this one. The Chargers have a lot of young talent that is still developing and we predict that by the end of the season they will have it all together and make a serious push for the title. They are 2-3 and are in 5th place so they are right in the thick of things.
- What is going on with Empire this season??? We have been wondering that for a while. First we thought it was rust, then new talent taking time to develop and gel with the team but now we aren’t really sure what’s going on with them. They have excellent leadership, an excellent QB and a pretty good receiving core. Things just don’t seem to be clicking right now but we have been rooting for them all season long and we still feel that at any moment things can turn around for them.
- Decepticons did a number on Those Ravens this week. After a blowout loss last week to Stop n Go, the Decepts came back this week to prove a point. Great catches, great defense and using the rules to their advantage the Decepts are now showing that they are a team to be reckoned with and if you take them lightly or if you’re not on your game you’re going to get run over. Look for them to be cruising into the playoffs.
- Those Ravens haven’t had much luck thus far. They have 1 win from week 1 and 4 straight losses. Although they are 1-4 they are still in the race for the playoffs. Ahmad Halimi, Steven Walker and David Leon are great leaders and great athletes so we think that they get into the playoffs.
- Warriors had a tough win against Empire but through the battle the Warriors are now positioning themselves to jump up in the standings. They have a tough road the rest of the way but look for them to make a strong push
