1) Who is Niraj aka Ricky? What does Ricky do besides being a member of SAFL?
Certified Personal Trainer aka Ladies man.
2) If you were a scout what description would you give Ricky as the player?
Good speed, competitive and energetic.
3) You are known to be in tremendous physical shape and lightning quick, and your a personal trainer. Would you mind giving us some free tips?
Diet is 50% of your health, working out is the other half. If you are working out but eating junk, you will not get your peak results. If you're happy with that, then just know by eating right you can easily look a lot better and be a lot faster and get a lot more girls. (Or guys, cause that's legal too now.)
4) You are a proud member of Bellerose Wolfpacks. How far do you see them going in the first season of SAFL?
Like every confident captain, I see this team winning the first place seed going into the playoffs and then eventually bringing the inaugural ship to Bellerose aka Hellrose.
5) Talk about your teammates for a second here. For example Pillai, Vish Singh, "Bubbles" are coming into the season with a lot of hype. Can they live up to the hype? Elaborate.
Pillai is a lengthy, speedy defensive gem with huge hands. If the ball is around his area, he will have his hands on it.
Vish is a freak of an athlete. Incredible Basketball player, has played high school volleyball for years and now his football skills definitely stand out as well. This guy has a closet full of trophies and they are all in different sports.
Bubble is lightning quick, and about as strong as a gorilla. This is the 150 pound kid that tackles 250 pound grown men and makes them looks like squirrels. If you have ever played football with us, you definitely know Bubz. He can throw at the QB position, he's a star receiver and most importantly his defense is on point.
6) You were also part of SABL and SASL as well. What continously draw you to the South Asian Sports brand of sports?
Honestly, I love the competition. This brand of sports brings so many impressive and talented desi athlethes that at the end of the day even if I'm not winning, I'm definitely a fan and love to watch.
7) Now that South Asian Sports is adding Bowling, will you try that out? Which sport do you think you are the best at? Which sport are you most passionate about?
I think I'm a better football player than anything else but my attraction to basketball goes without say. Growing up playing organized ball my whole life, that's something that I could never distance myself from.
8) What is different about these leagues than other leagues you play in? The positives and the negatives. please Elaborate.
Positives - Organized, STATS!!
Negatives - I don't like the fact that there's 1 person who has the say of who gets suspended and he determines how long. I would rather a board of players to decide upon that.
9) There are whispers already this team might be a rowdy, dirty, sneaky bunch. As the captain of Bellerose Wolfpack what do you say to quiet such talk?
We Are.
10) Of course this being the first year and this being the opening week there aren't any rivalries yet. But do you have a team or teams circled on your calendar? Which teams are you looking forward to meet in the Gridiron?
Well since we are ranked number 2, I guess the number 1 team, Stop and Blow?
11) Obviously your not short on confidence but do you think being so Rex Ryan-esque type of leader might hurt your team? I only ask because you might be putting the target on the back of your jerseys before the season even begins.
I don't mind the target but at the same time, I'm not saying we will destroy every team either. I'm sure the competition will be tremendous and the road to the ship will not be a walk in the park. Knowing my group of guys, they would not expect anything less than the first place trophy.
12) What would it mean to you and to the Bellerose Wolfpack if you were to walk away as the Season 1 champions of SAFL?
If that happens, JETS tix on me!!
13) If you didnt have to pick Wolfpack, from what you have seen or heard so far, which team has the best chance at the first SAFL ship?
The Savages - Big Z at that QB position is a threat. I've had the opportunity to play with him two or 3 times (luckily on his team) and he impresses me every time. Besides week 1 and week 10, I'm rooting for this team and I want to see them do good.
14) What do u like, dislike and what changes would you make to SAFL that you have seen thus far?
Nothing, Commisioner Anwar is doing more than an excellent job.
15) Any parting words?
Shout out to Sandy - if this was tackle, he'd be a Peyton Hillis.
Parvesh - aka the horse, Excellent football IQ, has experience with organized football and is fast as bullets.
Mandeep and Nikhil - Let's just say, they will catch that ball.
Jaggi - Fast, agile, has the calves of a NBA player (better believe he can jump.)
Wolfpackkk "aaaaooooooo"
