Game of the Week-Week 3

.
In a preseason interview captain of Bellerose Wolfpack had this to say-Which teams are you looking forward to meet in the Gridiron? Well since we are ranked number 2, I guess the number 1 team, Stop and Blow? In retaliation Stop N Go player Ramy had this to say- for the person who called us stop and blow do me a favor bring that mouth when you play us.
Fighting words from two proud teams as they square off in the match up EVERYONE circled in their calendar. Both teams are 1-1 with two close losses in Week 1 followed by convincing wins in Week 2. Both teams are looking to keep momentum in this match up that is sure to be very emotional, and competitive.

QBs-Talha Ghumman vs Dilshad Singh

Talha is as hit and miss as they come. Some of his throws makes you wonder how he isn't the unquestioned best QB in the game. And of course there are some decisions he makes that makes Captains Farhan and Usman want to rip their hair out. Stop N Go is hoping the good Talha comes this Saturday because they will definitely need him to beat a very good Wolfpack squad.

So Wolfpack is on to their 3rd QB in 3 weeks. Parvesh is doubtful to come this week due to prior engagements but Dilshad aka Bubbles or Bubz (?) will make his long anticipated debut at QB. Early scouting has this kid as the total package with a rocket arm, crazy speed and reads the defense fairly well. Stop N Go isn't your best defense out there so Dilshad just has to minimize his mistakes and give Wolfpack a chance to win.

OFFENSE

Talha has a lot of weapons at his disposal in offense. Usman, Farhan, Shumail, Nabeel, Naveed, Kunal etc are all blessed with sure hands and ability to get good yardage after the catch. And of course this is also the week they will get back their speedster Suleman Tariq. He has the ability to stretch the field and reel in a few of those deep throws Talha loves. Stop N Go haven't shown the versatility to take the underneath routes available to them yet. Most of their points scored have been via the deep throws by Talha. Well against a Wolfpack team that can matchup with Stop N Go's speed Talha has to learn to take what the defense gives him.

Most football team thrives on continuity. Well Wolfpack are onto their 3rd QB in 3 weeks. So much for that. Parvesh looked very good last week but this week the WR's have to get used to another QB that brings in a different set of skills. Dilshad can run with the best of them and he will also use some of the better receivers in SAFL in Vish, Niraj, Sandeep, Gurpreet and now Chris. Wolfpack had a hard time cracking Savages zone defense and didnt look all that impressive cracking Bandits either, so hopefully the practices they run on the weekdays will help them figure out the zone defenses SAFL teams loves to run.

Edge: Stop N Go.

DEFENSE

Most teams in SAFL love to run some sort of zone defense and Stop N Go has had trouble switching from man defense they grew up playing to the zone. But lately the patience has finally paid off with the defense looking pretty good last week against a mediocre Believers offense. Usman picked off 2 passes last week. Farhan had a into as well. Their tackling has improved tremendously as well. They don't give up many YAC anymore.

Wolfpack defense looked good week 1 against Savages but against Bandits they didn't look like a defense associated with an elite team. Burhan repeatedly hit Marc Flynn over the top last week. Maybe they didn't respect Burhans arm last week. Whatever the case is, this week there better not be any letup as Talha can throw the deep pass with the best of em.

Advantage: Wolfpack still. Stop N Go still needs to work out some kinks.

Keys To Victory:

1. Keeping emotion in check- as stated above there are two teams that wont be trading pleasantries any time soon. But both teams HAVE to keep their emotion in check and play a fundamental game. Both teams don't want to lose players to the strict SAFL Zero Tolerance policy.

2. Red Zone Offense- short of a defensive TD, there is nothing that swings momentum than stopping a offense in the red zone. Both teams will move the ball well but will they be able to punch it in once they get close?

3. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers.

SAFL PREDICTION- Wolfpack with a 19-12 win. Game sure won't disappoint.
