- First things first. There were some minor incidents last week regarding sportsmanship. Two players have been suspended already. It is also quite embarassing to see great competition and games being marred by altercations and cursing.
- Referees are on full alert this week. SAFL Zero Tolerance policy is in full effect. Don't jeopardize your playing time or your teams.
- Shout out to Gotham Green. Sick name dude. If that is your real name.
- Spartans vs Believers has all the makings of a trap game. Spartans coming off of a great OT win against a Savages powerhouse team. Next couple of weeks they ll be facing Stop N Go and then Empire. They better not look past the Believers. Otherwise we might be talking about the shocker of all shockers.
- Savages will be missing starting QB and All-Pro safety Zulfikar. Dont feel too bad for them tho. Backup QB Pankaj could start for half the other league. He is a seasoned vet and knows how to make the winning plays.
- No team has made more strides from Week 1 till now than NGNG. Aldo stabilizes the QB position and Mohammed and Khuram on the outside as WR's is as tough of a cover as any duo in SAFL. Salman, Taif, Sammy, Ridwan etc now has to learn to be good supporting players and we can be talking about a start of a dynasty.
- Do Slumdogs have a QB controversy in hand with Jesse and Mike Chu? Week 1 darling of SAFL Mike still has the inside track to secure the job especially with new addition Jeffrey Thomas on board.
- Slumdogs are a very under appreciated team. This team showed it can hang with anyone. Looking forward to seeing this team surprise SAFL and sneak up on a few people.
- Outlaws now have 2 above average QBs in Jeremy and Jawid and no reliable receivers and Defense. Ramin and Karan definitely looked good last week tho. Needs to get more play makers in there.
- NFL has Peyton's neck, SAFL has Ramy's injury. Def. didn't get to see what the hype was about this supposed monster of a player.
- Hashim Naveed first time safety already has 4 intos. Khuram Shazad also has 4 intos.
- The Stop N Go vs Bellerose Wolfpack have hyped for a while. Hopefully the game will live up to the hype. Both teams must remember not to put too much stock into the outcome of any one game in the regular season. All the games count essentially the same in the standings
- Looking at some of the SAFL Videos archive some of the hardest covers for cornerbacks in SAFL are Jose Martinez, Khuram Shazad, Dipan Patel, Marc Flynn, Irfan Musliwala, Shumail Haque.
- Some of the elite defenders? The Savages vaunted zone defense esp the two safeties dubbed Zevis and Butthead, Hashim and Adil teaming up in Spartans, Dipan and Atif for Empire, Vish for Wolfpack, Usman from Stop N Go can shutdown any player in man coverage. Your also wise to not throw at Khurams direction when you play NGNG. Sakib from Bandits has played great D as well.
- Najeeb Hussaini might be one of the most underrated players in SAFL. Sajeel and Yamin continue to pile up stats for Spartans as well. Munesh and Green from Slumdogs as well.
- Most shocking stat from last week? WR Parik from Savages caught 3 touchdowns against Spartans. And he doesn't even start for them.
- Most well-kept hair-do in SAFL? Definitely Ali Nobani of Empire. There should be a SAFL Head and Shoulders commercial with that guy.
- MLB Thoughts of the Week-Wow what a collapse by the Red Sox and Braves..Rumors are out there Terry Francona is done. Great manager. Definitely should not be the Scapegoat. But can anyone beat the Phillies? Yankees go in with only one starter they can rely on. I see the Rangers coming out of the AL again with Phillies taking it all.
- NFL Thoughts of the Week-Mike Vick needs to shuttup and play. Even though he was right about not getting some of those calls. I mean you dare to breathe Peyton's oxygen around him they throw a flag. Megatron 6 tds in 3 games. Guy's a beast. Foster, Gore, CJ2K, Mike Vick are killing fantasy owners. Lesean Mccoy and Ray Rice are rewarding their owners. Wes Welker owners should all going crazy after what he's done so far.
- NBA Thoughts of the Week-Fellaz your not going to survive another lockout. Your fan base isn't as strong as NFL or MLB. Last year the hate for Heat united a whole nation. Don't lose the casual observers that were there just to watch Lebron fail. Kobe please don't play in Italy. You need to rest up. 5 Things I will miss most about NBA if there is a lockout-
- Blake Griffin Dunks.
- Miami Heat crying about the 24/7 media coverage. They did throw a championship celebration before doing a practice together last year.
- Derrick Rose highlight reels.
- Jeff Van Gundy's Commentary.
- New York Knicks continued rise to relevancy.
- SASL Fall Ball modified pitching experiment looks to continue this Sunday with some juicy match ups. SABL Basketball is actually filling up teams in record pace. SABOWL starts end of next month or beg of Nov. Whats next? SACricket? That would be pretty awesome. Farhan, Hashim, Yash get on that.
- Roster freeze is tonight at 11:59 PM!
- Good luck to all in Week 3.
