The Browns are excited to join the South Asian Football League and look forward to the honest and grueling competition. The Browns are comprised of friends, old and new, who are in one way or another connected to Flushing, Queens. Most of the team members are childhood friends who grew up in Flushing and also share a passion for football. Most of the players have at one time or another participated in the Fresh Meadows Football League (whose rules and product have greatly influenced the SAFL and its founders).
The Browns team members are comprised of legitimate athletes and those trying to live out their SportsCenter fantasies. This will be the first time most have participated in flag football, so the learning curve could be steep.
The roster includes:
- Papu Alam (previous experience includes FFFL and regularly participates in intramural leagues and will challenge for the multiple league awards)
- Rauf Asra (previous experience includes FFFL and is gifted with glue like hands and his willingness to do whatever it takes to win)
- Pulak Bhuiya (previous experience includes FFFL and is versatile enough to play all positions)
- Bakhtiar Khan (Previous experience includes FFFL whose once canon arm is now just a water pistol)
- Najmul Khan (Previous experience includes FFFL and SAFL – swiped from the Chargers and is expected to be the anchor of the defense)
- Omar Khan (Previous experience includes FFFL and will threaten to lead the league in TDs)
- Tariq Khan (Novice player brings a wealth of enthusiasm and schematic knowledge)
- Waqas Khatri (Previous experience includes FFFL and Cardozo High School and whose position is football player)
- Nafi Mashriqi (Previous experience includes FFFL and will compete for the MVP and DPOY awards)- Adil Palwala (Previous experience includes FFFL and SAFL and will contribute in a flex role)
- Osamah Palwala (Previous experience includes FFFL and will contribute extensively to building the best defense)
- Tariq (Previous experience includes FFFL and will threaten league records for TDs and INTs)
- Ken Teleski (Previous experience includes FFFL, DIII College and is a candidate to lead the league in receptions)
