VS.
The #4 seedDecepticons faced the explosive #5 seed Savages. This playoff game was very similar to the regular season match up between these two teams with the same end result.
An already chippy playoff game became even more intense when their was some words exchanged from both sides on a controversial non-call for tripping. This got Samir Pepic and the entire Decepts squad even more fired up. Give them credit they channeled their emotions on the sidelines and used that energy to put on an explosive offensive display. As Sami had a game for the ages (3TDs 2ints) and was last seen leaving his mark all over Cantiague.
However, Savages showed a lot of grit and heart as well. They adjusted brilliantly and confused the Decepts D on several possessions in the 2nd half. Employing a hurry up offense and connecting on several deep passes they kept the game within striking distance. Decepts were up by a TD with 4 minutes to go. On a crucial 3rd and short play from the 49 yard line QB Moe Bagawala, who has been phenomenal all season long, connected w. Maaz for a HUGE 1st down at the 50 that barely got across the cone. This play enabled the Decepts to drive to near the end zone. Despite being unable to punch it in from the 5 yd line they managed to leave just 32 seconds and zero timeouts for Savages to work with. A brilliant job of managing the game down the stretch as no miracle play was enough to go 99 yards with 30 seconds left.
Decepts survive, and now they have a date with the defending Champs to see who will be sailing to the Ship!
