The Buzz Week 4

- Week 3 has shown that in the SAFL anything can happen.

- We have to talk about the big upset of the week, the Chargers beating Empire. Throughout the season the Chargers have shown that they can keep up with any team. They had trouble closing out games but we think that that is a thing of the past. Razi has done an excellent job preparing his men and it has now paid off. PJ and Bobby are looking solid along with Nadeem. Let's see if they can keep the momentum charging in the right direction.

- Is the Empire collapsing? If so, then Atif and the other leaders of Empire really need to re-evaluate their game plan. Many will attribute this loss to a lack of attendance by starters but Empire does have one of the deepest rosters in the league for situations just like this. It is, however, only been 3 games and there is still a lot of football left to be played. We are confident that Atif will steer his team back to prosperity.

- We brought in new referees this week and from what we are hearing it has been a huge improvement. They are still getting used to some of the rules but overall they have done an excellent job.

- Stop n Go got a much needed boost in confidence this past week by putting up 53 against Those Ravens. They looked loose, confident and energetic. They are 3-0 and they take on the 3-0 Decepticons this week. This game will really show the league where not only Stop n Go stands but also if the Decepticons are real contenders for the title.

- Those Ravens put up a valiant effort against Stop n Go but they couldn't close out on key plays throughout the game. A couple of missed catches really made the difference. Those Ravens are taking the steps in the right direction but they really need to learn how to take advantage of miscues from defenses.

- This is the time of year where the field becomes extremely slippery and muddy. Take extra caution when making your cuts on the field and clean your cleats out as much as you can to avoid any injuries.

- The Bandits are looking great this year. With key additions in Nadir, Yahmin, and Jawed to an already talented squad in Harvey, Burhan, Marc, Sakib and Victor the Bandits are one of the teams to beat this year.   The Defense is looking strong and the offense is really starting to click. Empire is looking to get the bad taste out of their mouth after their loss to the Chargers so the Bandits need to be prepared for this one.

- Desert Eagles has no wins but that doesn't mean that they are out of the race for the playoffs. They are only a couple of games behind and anything can happen. They have good athletes on their team but they have to remember that football is a lot about strategy and they need to implement more of it into their game plan. Remember that last season the Bandits went 0-5 before their first win and they made it to the Semi-finals so don't count the Eagles out just yet and taking them lightly would be a huge mistake.

- Many people in this league are family men. Get your kids involved too so they can continue the SAS tradition with SA Tots. E-mail Southasianfootball@gmail.com for more details.

- A lot of people are saying that the Decepticons beating the Savages was the real upset of the weekend but we disagree. If you believe it was an upset then you haven't seen the Decepts play. Mo Begawala has done a great job at QB with a 79% completion percentage. They have a great athlete in Alex Leonce. His fundamentals are uncanny and unmatched by anyone in the league. They are a rookie team and they are making plenty of noise.

- Although it wasn't an upset it was still very disappointing to see the Savages lose this one. They have been tough all season but they let this one slip away. Anwar is on leave and there are rumors that a new player is coming in and he might be taking over the helm. More on this to come....

- The Slumdogs keep on rolling with another win this time against the Warriors. The Dogs are looking good but the one critique that we have is that we see too many dropped balls on key plays. Many of the top teams will take advantage of that so the Slumdogs really need to keep it to a minimum. Other than that they are looking good and they take on the Savages this week. If they can pull out a win against the Savages they are another team who are real contenders for the ship.

- The Warriors are 0-3 and are playing the Desert Eagles who are also 0-3 this week. The Warriors MUST win this game in order to gain some traction on the teams in front of them. The Warriors are a talented team so we are not counting them out just yet but Aldo and co. really need to get it together before it becomes to late. it doesn't get any easier after this week they have Empire, Stop n Go and Savages.

-Week 4 is full of competition and we are excited to see what happens. Stay Tuned....
