Match-Ups Week 1

GAME OF THE WEEK
Game 1 Preview-“The Rematch”

Stop N Go vs Slumdogs

Team Preview-
Slumdogs-Very athletic team led by play makers Mike Chu and reining defensive player of year Jobin.  This is a scrappy bunch of guys that will not give up on any play.  The Slumdogs defense is tough and very stingy.  This defense had 29 picks and only allowed 15 points a game.  They finished number #2 in total defense.  Look for the Slumdogs to continue to play that rugged type of defense this year.
League Beware:  If you throw it, it will get picked.

Stop N Go-There is not enough time or words to describe this team.  But if I had to pick 3 words, it would be FAST, SMART and HUMBLE.  Usually when you think Stop N Go you think about the offense.  But this team is built on a dominating defense.  30 picks in which 8 were pick 6’s.  This nasty defense gave up only 9.8 points a game.  That is sick!!

League Beware:  If you throw it, it will get picked and returned for a score.

Game preview- This is a rematch of last year’s championship game in which Stop N Go dominated from the get go.  Will this game be different from last year; the answer is a resounding NO.  Stop N Go has too much talent, speed and intelligence against the athletic Slumdog team.  The first half will be tight but I fully expect Stop N Go to make a few key defensive plays to blow open the game in the second half.
Score:  36-12

Game 2 Preview-“Upset Special”

Those Ravens vs Deagles

Game Preview:  Not too much is known about the Deagles.  There are more questions about this team and the Decepticons then any other teams in the league.  WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS.  Look for the Deagles to make some early mistakes since it their inaugral game but I have a gut feeling this team will adjust fast and put on a good show.

Those Ravens are a new team but have plenty of SAS experience. Ahmad Halimi is looking to shut his critics up by showing off his recruits and his own play. Lets see what happens in this game of unknown football players.
Score:  20-13

Game 3 Preview-“David vs Goliath”

Decepticons vs Empire

Game Preview:  The other dangerous team in the Decepticons.  No one knows how this team plays and I have a feeling they like that.  Similar to the Deagles watch this team make a couple of mistakes in the beginning but bounce back strong in the second half.   Empire is led by All Pro Tight End Atif Tatari and a terrific QB in Chris Mui.  This game is dubbed as David vs Goliath because of the sheer size of their All Pro tight end.  At first glance you don’t think he is that big but anyone who defended him last year figured out fast that this guy is a “Beast”.  Look for Empire to play consistent football all day and win comfortably.
Score:  29-14

Game 4 Preview-“Run and Shoot”

Bandits vs Warriors

Game Preview:  Warriors is another new team in the league but we have a little bit more insight about them.  What we know is their QB (Aldo) is simply the best in the leauge.  In last year’s All Star game he destroyed the opposing team’s defense.  And please note all the defenders on that side were amongst the best defenders in the league.  The key question is can he gel with his new recievers?  The answer is yes.  They have been working very hard in the offseason and even played in 2 pre-season games vs a champisionship contending team in the Savages.

The Bandits on the other hand have been the busiest team in free agency.  First nabbing FA Yamin, then getting 3 solid players in Abir, Nadir and All Pro QB Jawid.  The knock on the Bandits last year was QB play, untimely drops and lack of bench play.  But this team in the second half of the year might have had a top 2 or 3 defense in the league by playng an aggressive style of defense.  Can they continue playing Bandit football?  How will the FA’s impact this team?  I think the jury is still out on this team but they pull out a tight one in a high scoring run and shoot affair.
Score:  34-32

Game 5 Preview-“Contenders or Pretenders”

Savages vs Chargers

Game Preview:  Chargers a new team to the league but its image makeover.  This team is essentially the Believers from last year.  They have upgraded QB play signing SASL player PJ and WR by signing another SASL player in Bobby AKA “Speed Demon”.  Will they be enough to handle the Savages?  Resounding NO!  Savages are too talented and too fast.  This team is a combination of the Spartans and Savages.  But make no mistake this team is hungry and has a bad taste from last year underachievement.  Look for them to slap the bad taste out in the first game by simply dominating.  I know they were beat in pre-season by the Warriors but lets admit to this it’s just pre season.
Score:  48-6.
