Week 1 Predictions.

PREDICTIONS

Matchup 1--Outlaws vs Slumdogs

A lot of firsts in SAFL history will happen here. The first game ever, first completion, first touchdowns etc. Going to be the start of something great. The matchup in itself should be interesting. While neither team is considered elite at this point of their respective seasons, the matchup should be very close just because the teams are so closely matched up. Neither team has done much practice or scrimmages but Slumdogs losing their starting QB right before season is a huge blow. Outlaws 20-13

Matchup 2--Wolfpack vs Savages

Our game of the week. Two hyped up teams. The matchup might've lost some of its luster with breaking news of the much anticipated debut of QB Bubbles being on the shelf for at least half the season and injury to Captain Niraj Ghai. Niraj plans to play thru his injury. While this puts a damper in this matchup Wolfpack, we are still sticking with our prediction of a Wolfpack victory but it wouldnt be a shocker to see Savages pull this one out easily esp if they were able to sign Javier to their crop of players. Wolfpack 21-14

Matchup 3--Stop N Go vs Empire

Another big matchup. Two talented team locking horns and this promises to be a high scoring affair. Chris the qb of Empire and Talha of Stop N Go both have big time arms but which QB will minimize their mistakes? Turnovers are key because you know both teams will pounce on any opportunity with a short field after a turnover. However Stop N Go players have tremendous chemistry and should be able to pull this one out against a very good Empire squad. Stop N' Go 26-13

Matchup 4--The Believers vs Bandits

Lots of chatter about Bandits being a "bunch of free agents". But they do have some intriguing talent esp Harvey. The main question will be can Burhan get these guys the ball in a position where the receivers can use their athleticism and speed and get many yards after catch{YAC}. The Believers have flown under the radar and thats exactly how captains Hamza and Musaib likes it. But with only a couple of full practices under their belts Believers will play a lot of catch up and it will be hard to overcome the expected early defecit. Bandits 20-7

Matchup 5--Spartans vs No Games No Gimmicks

No Games No Gimmicks failed to live up to bold predictions of a scary roster when Captain/GM Khuram failed to sign some of the big free agents on their team and now has to coach a lot of impressive yet very raw talent. Signing Moe B. late into the season to play QB was a huge coup as he is known to be a highly intelligent player. With Special K leading the way along with Rick Asif, Ridwan, Moe Rahman etc they will be better but...The Spartans looked like world beaters in their demolition of Savages in their last scrimmage. With speed in both sides of the ball, Captain Anwar has this team headed in the right direction. Jose, Hashim, david, Adil all have All-pro talent and their supporting cast isnt bad either with Yamin, Sajeel, Selvin, Ali Arshad and Naqib. Spartans 33-14
