The Hot Seat Volume II - Big Z - Zulifkar Musliwala

***INTERVIEW WAS DONE BEFORE WEEK 2.

1. Coming off a thrilling week 1 win, and already being dubbed as one of the best QBs in the league, what do you expect from yourself this year as an individual?

I appreciate the love but up until this point, I have yet to reach the expectations I have for myself and the expectations my teammates have for me. Luckily we pulled out a win, but if I continue to be erratic, that luck will run out pretty soon. I expect The Savages to make a run at the title, anything less would be failure.

2.What does Big Z do when he's not playing football? Hobbies, daily activities?

I am the biggest square off the field. I am 27 going on 57. I don't do a damn thing other than working out, working and going to school. Btw Ricky, give a brother some tips man lol.

3. Do you play any other sport(s) other than football? Which one are you best at?

I play football, softball and basketball. I suck in all three lol

4. You are known to be a great safety as well as QB. Which position do you prefer to play and why?

That's a good question. QB is my kryptonite. No matter what, that is what my heart is set on. I enjoy the pressure of the position. Safety is great too because it's nice to know the other QB looks up, sees me, and won't throw to my side lol. We're Zevis and Butthead (Yash).

5.Who's your favorite pro athlete and why?

My favorite football player is Mike Vick. Dude is amazing.

6. You played in SASL this part year and also taking part in SASL Fall ball as well as SAFL. What continously draws you to South Asian Sports?

South Asian sports are extremely well organized and all the members are committed to the sport, be it football, softball, etc. It's quite different coming from Queens leagues where half of your team shows up hungover and disinterested in the task at hand lol.

7.If you can which player would u start a SAFL roster with? Be honest. (you dont have to say your brother)

It's hard for me to pick a particular player because I am mostly familiar with my squad and don't want to be biased, but guys in the mold of Yash and Manju are absolutely essential in my eyes to a team's success. So, first and foremost I would look for a guy with a great skill set but an even better attitude. Nobody likes cry babies lol.

8. Tell us a little about the athletes on your team.

All the guys on my squad play more than just football so we are an athletic bunch. Some guys are best at basketball, others baseball, others football, and one guy is supposedly awesome at cricket.

9. Aside from a player on your team, which athlete impresses you the most in this league?

Hashim impressed me. I know he is an amazing softball player but he is an equally impressive football player. He is gassed as it is, so I'll make sure he gets a run for his money on Saturday.

10. Will you be giving your famous pep talk speech to Savages as well? What was it? "Hey you wanna play or go home? You know what I feel like going home. WAKE UP"

They are famous? Yeah, if needed, I'll get at my squad. We expect to be undefeated and take the chip. So whatever it takes to achieve those goals will be done.

11. What do you like about SAFL so far and what changes would you make?

Again, I love the organization and commitment. I would incorporate throwoffs and play on the turf fields. I know it will happen, just a matter of when ;)

12. Might be a little early to call but which team is your biggest threat/rival?

Biggest rivals so far would have to be Spartans and Wolfpack. There can only be one elite team lol

13.Parting words?

Basically, just stay home the weekend your schedule reads SAVAGES. We don't want to hurt anyones feelings lol.
