The Buzz Week 3 Edition

  • There should be more people hanging back or coming early to watch the GOW's. Savages vs Spartans was a monster back and forth game with the game going to OT and Spartans pulling it out in a 31-30 dramatic victory.
  • QB Zulfikar and Captain Irfan's decision to go for 2 point conversion at the end and not 1 point to tie the game might haunt them for a while. Hindsight is always 20/20.
  • Week 3 was filled with close games and dramatic finishes. Besides Spartans/Saveages we had Outlaws vs N.G.N.G game featuring a crazy comeback. Oulaws backup QB Jawed filling in for Jeremy led Outlaws to a quick 14-0 lead. NGNG then only trailed 21-20 with one minute remaining and their new QB Aldo threw the game winning TD to new WR Mohamed to win the game. Khurams promise to add new talent wasnt just talk. New additions looked terrific. Khuram once again seemed unguardable.
  • Outlaws got some serious issues with their leaky defense. Moe and Ramin has to do something soon otherwise playoffs will just be a pipedream.
  • Some quick hits on Bandits vs Wolfpack-
  1. New QB Parvesh looked good in leading them to victory. Statbook for him was filled. But he threw two costly into that bought the Bandits back into the game. He got some WRs in Vish, Niraj, Bubbles etc so we're excited to see what happens here on out.
  2. Burhan led his team to a nice comeback and even led for a few but when it mattered most he threw a costly pick on a end game drive that wouldve given his team the win. Two heartbreaking losses. Can they recover?
  3. Marc Flynn was a stud in this game. But Bandits must use Sakib and Harvey more.
  4. There was a slight altercation that was broken up pretty quick. But SAFL's zero tolerance policy has the involved players suspended for 1 game each. Oh Boy...better be careful.
  5. Wolfpack raced to a 19-6 lead. Good teams dont squander those kind of leads.
  • Spartans are 2-0. Guess which is the only other undefeated team? The answer is Empire and how good did they look with Dipan as the receiver and with starting QB Chris Mui. Dipan looks as unstoppable as Megatron. The amazing acceleration he has, the hands etc. He is the total package. Chris throwing to Dipan, Atif, Shazad, Aun, Omer etc is a offense hard to stop. Pick your poison.
  • The SAFL Hype curse is in full effect. Slumdogs qb Mike Chu looked absolutely lost against Empire. He was replaced by Jesse Narula who almost led them to a comeback. We hype up Mike and he lays an egg. Who is going to start now for Slumdogs?
  • Gotham Green with the best juke and TD this past weekend. Dipans catch and run, Najeeb's great catch etc were also some highlights of the weekend.
  • You know a amazing stat? Only 3 teams have the stability to start and finish games with same QB thru 2 weeks. Spartans with Anwar, Savages with Zulf, and Stop N Go with Talha. Rest have either switched or missed their starting QB. So much for sticking with your guy.
  • Lots of cursing and trashtalking this past weekend. Referees have warned us they wont accept that and SAFL is better than that fellaz. Lets skip the cursing, taunting, bad sportsmanship altogether.
  • Believers might need a QB. Hamza is at best an average QB. Now missing Najmul, Razi, Najeeb for a few weeks lets see if they can look like contenders. Otherwise it will be a looooong season. But we still Believe!
  • QB Talha looked like a beast saturday. Man, he just tore thru a terrible Believers defense to put up over 40 points. No they arent that good and Believers arent that bad.
  • SAFL hype is going thru the roof. Lots of new player trying to join. Winter league anyone. Email southasianfootball@gmail.com to support this cause.
  • NFL thoughts of the past weekend--Please tell me you saw Vikings collapse under Megatrons amazing catches, Vick is injured, Jets lost. Come on Jets. Congrats to G-men. Terific game. Texans blew their chance AGAIN to be called top tier. Is there a more gifted tight end than Finley? Is there a better WR than Andre Johnson? CJ2K playing or still holding out? This is why you dont draft anyone but AP at no 1. Arian Foster?
  • SASL Fallball needs players. Let us know.
  • Early MVP candidates-
  1. Dipan Patel-Empire-Led his team to a comeback win in week 1 with his arms and legs. This week had a huge day receiving. Plays great D. Gameplan for opposing teams will be on him from now on.
  2. Anwar Sadat-QB and Captain of the best team in the league thus far. 10 to 3 TD to into ratio is stellar. Downside? No running ability or does not play defense.
  3. The Field-Parvesh, Talha, Farhan, Usman, Zulfikar, Marc, Hashim, Jose, Sakib etc are all looking good but havent seperated themselves from the pack.
  • This weeks match up we are loking forward to? Stop N Go vs Wolfpack. Nirajs "Stop N' Blow" comment heard around the world has that matchup buzzing for weeks now. Refweeres will be on full alert for any little altercation.
  • This week is when rosters freeze. So any player movement byt any Captains must be done this week.
  • LETS KEEP EISENHOWER FIELDS.
  • Congratulations to Mo on 602 saves. Yankees, Tigers, Rangers, Brewers, Phillies, Arizona all clinched. Boston and Atlanta with collapses. Favorites heading to postseason? Phillies?
  • Your thoughts on Citi Field moving their fences in?
Thats all the Buzz this week. Week 3 is on the horizon. Cant wait. Message boards is full of discussions. Check back site often for new contents.
