Week 2 RECAP

The Bandits and the Decepts were 2 teams going into this 0-1. Both teams had high aspirations for this season and only one team could move forward going 1-1.

Decepticons were coming off an embarrassing loss at the hands of the Warriors and they decided to take it out on the Bandits.  Both the Offense and defense was clicking.  Defensively, Jobin, Samir, TJ, Rehan and Zain had big games.
Offensively, Bobby "Bones" had a huge day with 3 tds while everyone else chipped in.

The Bandits, last week, were defeated at the hands of the Savages. It was a tough loss for them, especially losing QB Burhan to a hamstring injury. The Bandits brought in new comer Chris Funfgeld to take the helm but he looked less then stellar. Chris through a few interceptions and failed to put ANY points on the board. Given he is new to the league and is adjusting to all the rules we will give a new comer pass for this week.

Bandits defense, also, did not look very good. The Bandits don't seem like the team we were all used to, partially because there are a lot of new pieces to this puzzle. Joe Furman, who is new to the team, has yet to have a breakout performance, due in part to new QB's shuffling around too much.   Also, Sakib Hassan went down with a knee injury.

With a team with players such as Nadir, Yamin, Harvey, Joe, Burhan, Sakib, and Baktash we expect a lot more than we have seen in the last two games.

With a league full of competition this season and every team fighting for every win, the Bandits MUST turn things around or they might be going home early this year.

Look out league - The Decepticons have awakened- as their 56 point performance tops the 51 points the Bengals put up last week.

Decepticons 56  Bandits 0

Stop N Go played the upstart Bengals team in a close game.  The Stop n Go played with 6 guys for most of the game.  Led by Ramy and Suleman on defense they kept the Bengals in check holding them to 13 points for the game.  Nadeem was the best receiver on the day and Farhan filled in well enough at QB (after Talha left before halftime) to help his team hold on to a 20-13 win.

After last week's debacle against the Bengals, the Browns played much better defense.  The Warriors sustained long drives for two scores.  Their third touch down came on a long punt return to the Browns' 5 yard line.  The Browns were able to complete some passes but were not able put together many consecutive completions resulting in just one score.  The Browns had an opportunity to close the gap to one score at the two minute warning but were not able to complete critical throws.

For the Warriors, once again, Richie G had a big day grabbing 7 receptions including 2 Touchdowns from Aldo who has yet to throw a pick on the short season.   Khurram also grabbed a big TD and the Warriors once again played great Defense.

Empire showed heart on both sides of the ball.  Controlling the offense with proper clock management and key catches and run plays.  Defensively, both teams were great in the 2nd half.  Savages omnipotent offense was held scoreless in the 2nd half.  Great games by both teams.

A few key plays could have swung this game in either direction with a win for either team.  Empire showed resilience and determination, something that was lacking at times last year.  Look for Empire to continue to grow as a team and build chemistry each week.. The funny thing....the countdown for
Atif, Dipan and Kunal has started....should be a great team to watch when at full strength.

Savages played a sloppy game with numerous uncharacteristic drops by usually sure handed receivers.  The inefficiency and lack of execution plagued the Savages in this loss.

The matchup between PSR and the Panthers was another close one.  The wind was a huge factor as the short passing game was prominent on both sides.  PSR jump started to a 13-0 lead thanks to two early pick sixes by ball hawking corner back Rishi Seth.

QB Razi through a third costly pick in tve first half which PSR converted to a TD on an athletic catch by Pavy.  The Panthers finally scored on their last possession of the first half on a 4th down toss to David. They trailed 20 to 6 at halftime.  In the second half the Panthers finally started moving the Ball and Razi led the team on 2 long drives - connecting with Najeeb and Hamza on Touchdowns.

PSR scored once more in the second half on a great throw on the run from Ryan to Rishi and led 26-20 with 2 minutes to go - Unfortunately the Panthers defense which was solid all day could not get one final stop as Ryan hit Rishi for a  first down to ice the game with just over a minute left.  Rishi, Pavy and QB Ryan Darragh made some big plays in this game for PSR.   Lu, David & Ibrahim did their best to get the Panthers back in this one - but Razi's first half miscues were too much to overcome.

With the help from Mike T. at the safety and crucial defensive plays throughout the game from a host of individuals, PSR is showing that their defense is capable of stopping any offense.
